Which is better, communicating on the phone or emailing? It all depends on who you are and how comfortable you are with each one. With the phone you get quick answers and exchange of information quickly, as with email you have to wait for the next reply to come in. With the phone you may be playing phone tag with answering machine and automated services, as email is instant.
On the phone you have to be careful as to what you say and how you say it, as you only have one chance, email you can go over what you want to say before you send it. Phone calls can be drawn out into long conversations when you are in a hurry, email is instant and to the point. You may need to set up a variety of phone calls to inform all that need to know, where as email you can send one mail to all involved.
Phone calls can be expensive depending on your provider and long distance, as it is relatively cheap to send an email anywhere in the country. Phone calls can be alarming, distracting, and come in at an inconvenient time. Email can be answered when a person is good and ready to reply.
It just may depend on who you are as to which you prefer. To some the phone is much easier and more productive, and this may hit more of the older generation group. Where the younger generation is more accustom to typing and texting and prefer the non contact of email over personal contact of voices over the phone. It all depends on who you are and what you prefer.
